Annual Review Archive

How to Search for topics from the Annual Review archive. The keyword search function helps you quickly find articles by matching the words you type with our collection's records. Here is a simple guide on how to use it step-by-step. Type Your Topic into the Search Box Click inside the search box with your mouse. Type one or two key words that describe what you are looking for (for example: Castle, Market, or Swale). Press the Enter key on your keyboard (or click the search button next to the box). Important Note on How Search Works: The search box looks through the article titles and short summaries, not the full word-for-word text of the whole magazine. Keeping your words simple gives you the best results.

Look at Your Search Results After searching, a list will appear on your screen showing all matching entries. For each result, you will see: The Title and a short Summary of the article. The Year it was published. Open the Document Find the article you wish to read. Click on the Year link listed with that article. This will open the full year's edition of The Richmond Review as a PDF document on your screen. Find Your Article Inside the PDF Once the document opens, choose whichever method feels easiest: Method 1: Scroll through the pages Roll the wheel on your mouse or drag the bar on the right side of the screen up and down to flip through the pages until you find your article. Method 2: Use the keyboard search tool Hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard (or Cmd if you use an Apple Mac) and tap the letter F. A small search bar will appear near the top of your screen. Type your word again and press Enter. The computer will jump straight to that word on the page for you.
